Ontario is an international fresh water fishing destination and Lake of the Woods is one of Ontario’s top destinations. Young’s Wilderness Camp, a traditional, family owned, fishing and hunting resort is located in the heart of this outdoor adventure area.  Our base camp is located on a private 5 ½ acre island on Stevens Bay which is on the southeastern side of Lake of the Woods, just north of Nestor Falls, Ontario.  It is just a short five minutes boat ride from our private landing to the island – close enough that you can be in Nestor Falls in twenty minutes, but remote enough that you feel like you are at a fly-in resort, this is truly the best of both worlds. 

Stevens Bay is an excellent spawning ground for a variety of fish species - walleye, northern pike, muskie, smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, crappie and perch just to name a few!   

The fishing opportunities are endless.  We offer guided and unguided packages, housekeeping plans or all inclusive packages that can be adapted to what is right for you.  If a do-it-yourself, fly-in outpost trip is more your style, check out our cabin on Kishkutena Lake where you can cast your favorite lure for muskie, bass, lake trout and perch.

If you are looking for a location that is the perfect place to get away from telephone, traffic and other noise, this area of the Precambrian shield is second to none.  From watching deer standing on the shoreline or having the bald eagles fly overhead you will have the opportunity to see nature in its natural environment.  For those who just want to escape from your busy lifestyle you can hike through the bush, take a canoe ride or find a natural beach and go swimming.  Peace and quiet is the name of the game here.

It is the breath-taking beauty of this area that also make it an ideal hunting destination. Young’s Wilderness Camp offers a rich, mixed bag of duck, grouse, deer and bear hunts for those who are looking for traditional hunting opportunities.  You will be hunting both the mainland and islands within a few minutes of the resort.  Lake of the Woods has 14,000 islands and 65, 000 miles of shoreline so there is ample space to enjoy a quality hunt in this area.  Hunting season is also an ideal time for fishing and we encourage hunters to bring fishing gear too.
