Description:

Peffley’s Canadian Wilderness Camp on beautiful Wabaskang Lake

Welcome to Peffley’s Canadian Wilderness Camp, our private landing is located just north of Perrault Falls, Ontario off Highway 105 (Red Lake Road) approximately 180 miles north of International Falls, MN.  Click here for map of how to reach camp.

Peffley’s Canadian Wilderness Camp is located 12 miles out (a short 20 minute ride in our SAFE and comfortable 21′ fully enclosed passenger boat) on Wabaskang Lake, and has eight modern housekeeping cabins. We are the only TRUE (not road accessible) wilderness camp on the lake and we are the ONLY camp on the north end of this 15 mile long lake.

As a boat-in camp, we offer our guests the best of both worlds by providing your group a remote fishing destination (only accessible by boat or plane) where you will experience outstanding fishing for Walleye, Northern pike, Smallmouth bass, Jumbo perch, Lake Trout and Whitefish without the costs and restrictions associated with a fly-in trip and enjoy it in a true wilderness environment.

Wabaskang Lake is well known for its excellent fishing for Walleye, Northern pike, Smallmouth bass, Jumbo perch, Lake trout and Whitefish.  Our guests enjoy fishing for all these species from within a 15 minute boat ride from camp. An easy portage over Hobson Falls will provide guests the opportunity to fish waters that also have a very good populations of Lake Trout, in addition to excellent fishing for walleye, northern, smallmouth and perch. By boat or foot portages, you can fish as many as ten other lakes from camp at no additional cost. Wabaskang Lake, is also a VERY safe lake to navigate. Although Wabaskang has incredible structure for excellent fishing, it has very few underwater hazards that many other Canadian Shield lakes are known for.

Peffley’s Camp is a perfect fishing AND family vacation retreat for couples and families who want to reconnect with nature and their families. Fully modern, clean and comfortable cabins combined with excellent fishing so close to camp makes our camp a perfect choice for families and kids. For the diehard fisherman-you can run a family member back to camp and then return to the hot fishing in less than 30 minutes (round trip). If a storm approaches, chances are you are no more than 10-15 minutes away from the safety of your cabin. Get a real windy day and you don’t have to sit in your cabin “wishin you were fishin”, the narrows right out in front of camp (about a 2 minute boat ride) are almost always “fishable” regardless of the wind and produce many, many limits for our guests every year.

The fish cleaning station is screened-in for your comfort, has two sinks with running water, fish pans to take your cleaned fillets to your cabin, and is one of the cleanest you will find in all of NW Ontario.  Your catch for the day can be cleaned, packaged and frozen in the on-site freezer all in one building. Click here for photos of fish cleaning station.

During your stay at Peffley’s Canadian Wilderness Camp, we are confident you will enjoy the outstanding fishing, the friendly atmosphere of the camp, the cleanliness of the camp, equipment and accommodations, and of course the scenery, wildlife and serenity of the Canadian wilderness. We offer an unbeatable combination of great fishing, clean accommodations and affordability. All in a remote setting that you will be sure to enjoy!
